Hawks On Brink of Playoffs

The Atlanta Hawks will clinch their first playoff berth since '98 -99 if they win either of their remaining two games. They have a Tuesday night game against Orlando and Wednesday at Miami. Orlando currently has locked up the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference at 50 - 30 on the season. Miami, 14 -66, is trying to avoid matching its franchise record number of loses in a season, 67.

However, Atlanta is trying to snap a streak of their own. The Hawks have not been to the playoffs since the '98-99 lockout-shortened season. A win against either Orlando or Miami will do the trick. But if the Washington Wizards knocks off Indiana Pacers tonight or if Knicks can on Tuesday, Atlanta will backslide their way into the playoffs.

Everything starts somewhere and this is definitely something this team can build on. Now if the Hawks can finish out the puzzle by getting a true center and a new head coach...........well let's just make the playoffs. Please.
